Christmas Tree Farms Near Toronto
Looking for something fun and festive to do with the family this weekend? You’re in luck! Tomorrow is National Christmas Tree Day, and to mark the occasion, we’ve rounded up a list of our favourite Christmas Tree Farms to visit over the weekend:
Whether you plan to cut your own or pick up a pre-cut tree, there’s a lot of fun to be had at Merry Farms. Located just outside Hamilton (about an hour from Toronto), this family-owned farm brings on the holiday cheer with nature trails to explore, Clydesdale horses to visit, and a bonfire to enjoy before tractor-drawn wagons take you to the harvest fields, leaving you to find that perfect tree.
Located in Orangeville, about an hour and a half outside of Toronto, Laura’s Christmas Tree Farm is an environmentally-friendly choice: Their wide selection of trees are all pesticide-free. Bonus! Laura’s provides free hot chocolate, candy canes, and dog treats (for your furrier family members) on the weekends.
Located in Egbert, just an hour north of Toronto, Drysdale’s offers a true Christmas experience! In addition to cut-your-own and pre-cut tree options, you can enjoy train rides, horse-drawn wagon rides, live Christmas music, a chance to meet Santa, and marshmallow-roasting over a huge bonfire.
Looking for something to the east of the city? Located just outside of Oshawa, Prestonvale has a wide selection of cut-your-own and pre-cut trees, in addition to free tree-shaking and baling. Take a little break before heading back home in their rest area and enjoy some refreshments (available for purchase).
Located near Milton, less than an hour outside Toronto, Clembrook offers a variety of cut-your-own and pre-cut trees. In honor of National Christmas Tree Day, Clembrook is donating $4 per tree to the Community Foundation of Halton North this Saturday only!
If you’re in the market for a big tree, Elliott Tree Farm has you covered! Offering a wide selection of trees all the way up to 14 feet tall, you can cut your own or choose one of their fresh pre-cut trees. Fun fact: For every tree sold, Elliott’s plants 2 new trees. Located near Orangeville.
Chickadee Christmas Tree farm is located in Cambridge, about an hour outside of Toronto, and offers a variety of activities in addition to tree-picking: Enjoy a free kids’ activity area, nature trails, and complimentary apple cider and candy canes.
Looking for something a little closer to home? Located just 45 minutes outside Toronto, Macpherson’s offers more than just a tree-hunting experience: On weekends you and your family can enjoy free hot chocolate, a scavenger hunt, and wagon rides.
